On To Look Away, Adelaide-based filmmaker Sophie Hyde collaborates with Restless Dance Theatre, Australia’s leading dance company working with young disabled and non-disabled people. The work consists of five video portraits that adapt classical aesthetic notions of nineteenth-century European portraiture to explore the inner worlds of five young people. Gaze, intimacy and movement are investigated through choreography and the language of film in these sensitive and contemporary portraits.
